Last night was another rich time of gathering — this time around the story of Jesus walking on the water from Matthew 14.

One of the encouraging things for me was to see one of the kids begin to sequence the story in her pictures — a next step for her as she naturally retells the story in her own way.

It makes me wonder how we’re being drawn to ‘naturally retell the story’.  We’re accustomed to doing church in one way, and we’ve been wrestling with the tension of protecting what’s being developed, but not to the point of excluding others. (See shopfront post)

Could it be that the opportunities of an upcoming sausage sizzle in partnership with CWA, and engaging a couple of ‘big churches’ we are in relationship with be an invitation into considering our ‘shopfront’?

A natural next step in our retelling of the story?

Could it be that these small steps are part of the new territory we’re being invited to step into?
